Emotional regulation skills are not something people are born with, instead, they are developed out of a shared experience of co-regulation as a child. Many things can disrupt this process and individuals did not learn the skills and must work to aquire them later in life. DBT is an evidence-based program proven to help strengthen the ability to be successful with emotional regulation, navigating stressful sitautions that arise, improving mindfulness, and helping repair internpersonal chaos. DBT has been effective in treating a variety of diagnosis including: Boarderline Personality, PTSD, Substance Use Disorders, Eating Disorders, Depression, Anxiety, and those struggling with self harming behaviors. This 10 week group will focus on emotional regulation skills based off of Dialetical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Techniques
Rebekah Patrick Becker, LPC, will be facilitating the group. Rebekah has experience working in day hospital and in patient treatment and has facilitated numerous groups.
The group will meet Thursdays 6-7:30pm September 14- November 16, 2023 6-7:30 for adults (18+ and out of high school)
Eligible Participants: Adults 18+ currently receiving therapy or who are recommended by a mental health professional.
Focus: This group will teach individuals skills to navigate difficult emotions. Each skills and group is focused on the skills of DBT mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness
Cost: $650 for 10 weeks and $75 for initial assessment for appropriateness for group. Initial intake may be billable to insurance. Group is NOT billable to insurances and averages $65 a session. Attendees should plan to attend all the sessions.
