About Me
Sometimes life throws challenges your way that feel far too heavy to carry alone. Whether you are noticing your child struggling to keep their head above water or you are a young adult feeling overwhelmed by the weight of expectations, seeking therapy is a courageous first step toward relief. I believe that we grow and heal through our relationships with others. This is the heartbeat of my practice. I approach every session with genuine curiosity, an open mind, and a friendly, outgoing energy. My goal is to build a connection where you—or your child—feel safe enough to be your most authentic self. I’m a firm believer that healing and humor can go hand-in-hand; I love to laugh with my clients and find joy even in the hard work of growth.
Who I Help
I specialize in supporting children (ages 8+), teens, and young adults as they navigate the complexities of growing up. My practice is focused on helping those struggling with:
Anxiety & Overwhelming Stress: Taming the "what-ifs" and building coping skills.
Depression & Low Motivation: Finding the spark again and rediscovering self-worth.
Social Relationships: Navigating the ups and downs of friendships and peer pressure.
Family Dynamics: Improving communication and strengthening the bonds at home.
My Therapeutic Approach
While I pull from a variety of therapeutic styles, I ground my work in a person-centered, strengths-based approach. I don't see you as a "problem to be fixed," but as a person with unique talents and resilience.
For younger clients and teens, sitting on a couch and talking for an hour can feel stiff and intimidating. To make therapy engaging and effective, I utilize creative, play-based interventions, including:
Sand Tray Therapy: Creating visual worlds to process internal feelings.
Therapeutic Games: Building social skills and emotional regulation through play.
Artistic Expression: Using creativity to communicate what words sometimes can't.
Experience & Education
I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Minnesota State University, Mankato. My professional background includes working with clients across the lifespan in outpatient mental health settings, which has given me a broad perspective on how to support individuals through various developmental milestones.
“I’m here to help your child find their voice, build their confidence, and develop the tools they need to thrive.”
