
Christy is a graduate from Messiah University with a MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and is a Nationally Certified Counselor. She is working towards becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor and is in training to be a registered play therapist. Christy uses a person-centered style of therapy while working with children or adults. She believes in giving the client a voice and collaborating with them in a variety of ways that best serve their individual needs. Christy works with clients using strengths based and solution focused therapy, sand tray therapy, both indirect and directive play therapy techniques and has training in Theraplay techniques. Christy is also trained in Dialetical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Through life and professional experience, Christy understands the foster care and adoption process experienced by individuals and their families. Christy also has experience working with a variety of presenting concerns including trauma, grief/loss, anxiety, depression, post partum depression, behavioral difficulties, recent transitions, self-esteem, relationship issues, and stress.
Christy enjoys spending most of her free time with her family, friends and dog. She likes reading, fitness, couponing, being outside, and music. She is always up for a laugh and a good meal.
