Board Certified Art Therapist - Licensed Professional Counselor

ATR-BC,  LPC

Finding the right words to express your thoughts, feelings and emotions can be difficult.

I practice with a person-centered approach and see the value in creating artwork as a cathartic and sensory release with clients.  I am passionate about the creative process and use artwork as a non-verbal outlet for those who struggle to identify their thoughts and feelings verbally.  Art work can also be a means for the individual to relax and foster healthy communications with the therapist.

I promote holistic and realistic expectations for healing and provide a genuine atmosphere for the individual to feel understood and accepted.

Experience

I am a board-certified Art Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor. I have experience working with a variety of individuals walking through mental health struggles, trauma, behavioral difficulties, adoption/foster care, physical disabilities, grief/loss, and pediatric oncology. A primary focus of my work has been with children ages 4-18 and I strives to see the individual as a whole and focus on improving their overall well-being. I practice with a person-centered approach and see the value in creating artwork as a cathartic and sensory release with clients.  I am passionate about the creative process and uses artwork as a non-verbal outlet for those who struggle to identify their thoughts and feelings verbally. I promote holistic and realistic expectations for healing and provides a genuine atmosphere for the individual to feel heard and accepted.

I am also trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and utilize strength-based techniques to help you reduce negative perceptions about yourselves and your current situation. When working through trauma, I will work with you at your own pace and will help guide you on your own journey of healing. I feel the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important aspects of therapy, as the you should always feel safe, comfortable and not judged for what you are experiencing.
