Kirsten is a student intern from has spent the majority of her career working with very young children and their caregivers as a Special Instructor in the Birth to Three Early Intervention Program. She has a passion for Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health and earned a graduate certificate from Chatham Univeristy in Infant Mental Health in 2012. Kirsten (and her family!) is in her final year of a Master’s of Social Work program at the Erikson Institute, a program that emphasizes the importance of early childhood development.
As such, Kirsten enjoys working with parents during the many transitions and adjustments that come with different stages of parenthood. This may include making discoveries with parents about how their own experiences as a child influences their current experience as a parent, learning about ways to support their child(ren), or having a brave space to share highs and lows of the parenting experience. In addition, Kirsten enjoys working with children, adolescents, and adults on a wide range of topics. Kirsten engages with clients using a trauma-aware, relationship-focused, open-communication style so that clients can develop increased self-awareness and appreciation, coping strategies, and new skills.
When she’s not doing school work, in class, or working, Kirsten loves spending time with her family and friends. Sometimes this means going for a walk, biking, or kayaking and other times this means cheering on swimmers, runners, and soccer players, and aspiring or professional musicians.
Kirsten sees clients at a significantly reduced rate of $45 a session.
