Yoga and Mindfulness Lifestyle Coaching

Yoga lifestyle coaching integrates the principles of yoga into various aspects of one’s life beyond the physical practice on the mat. It involves guiding individuals to adopt a holistic approach to well-being, encompassing physical, and mental health. Yoga Lifestyle Coaching is different than mental health therapy in that it does not engage in processing of the “whys” or the underlying reasons of experience and there is no diagnosis.   If you are interested in adding Yoga coaching with Susan at Matters of the Heart Counseling you can expect an individualized plan specific to your needs and desires.  Susan is sensitive to all religious backgrounds and incorporates spiritual elements only as desired.  Yoga Coaching incorporates the following:

  1. Physical Practice (Asana): Yoga lifestyle coaching often begins with the physical practice of yoga postures (asanas). The coach may help individuals design a personalized yoga routine tailored to their fitness level, health conditions, and goals.
  2. Breathwork (Pranayama): Emphasizing the importance of breath awareness and control is a fundamental aspect of yoga. Coaches may teach various pranayama techniques to improve respiratory health, reduce stress, and enhance overall well-being.
  3. Mindfulness and Meditation: Yoga lifestyle coaching involves incorporating mindfulness and meditation practices into daily life. These practices help individuals manage stress, improve focus, and cultivate a sense of inner peace.
  4. Healthy Eating: Yoga promotes mindful and balanced eating. Coaches may provide guidance on adopting a sattvic diet, which emphasizes fresh, whole foods and avoids processed or overly stimulating foods.
  5. Stress Management: Yoga lifestyle coaching addresses stress through a combination of physical practices, breathwork, and mindfulness techniques. Learning to manage stress is crucial for overall health and vitality.
  6. Sleep Hygiene: Adequate and quality sleep is vital for well-being. Coaches may offer advice on improving sleep hygiene, such as establishing a regular sleep routine and creating a restful sleep environment.
  7. Personal Development: Yoga lifestyle coaching often involves encouraging personal growth and self-awareness. This may include setting and achieving goals, cultivating positive habits, and exploring one’s values and purpose.
  8. Community and Connection: Building a sense of community and connection is essential in yoga. Coaches may guide individuals in creating supportive social networks and fostering positive relationships.
  9. Environmental Awareness: Yoga philosophy includes respect for the environment. Coaches may encourage sustainable and eco-friendly practices, promoting a sense of interconnectedness with the natural world.

Yoga lifestyle coaching is individualized, taking into account each person’s unique needs, goals, and circumstances. It’s a holistic approach that goes beyond the physical postures, aiming to enhance the overall quality of life. Working with a qualified yoga lifestyle coach can provide guidance and support on this transformative journey and is a great add-on to your individual therapy.  Yoga lifestyle coaching is not billable to insurances and is self pay only.  Individual sessions are $115.  A bundle of 3 sessions is $320 ($25 savings) and a bundle of 5 sessions is $500 ($75 savings).  Each session is 50-60 minutes long.
