Dialetical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Group

We are offering a DBT group for Middle and High School Teens in the summer of 2024.  Contact MOHInfo@counselingmail.com for more information.

Emotional regulation skills are not something people are born with, instead, they are developed out of a shared experience of co-regulation as a child.  Many things can disrupt this process and individuals did not learn the skills and must work to acquire them later in life.  DBT is an evidence-based program proven to help strengthen the ability to be successful with emotional regulation, navigating stressful situations that arise, improving mindfulness, and helping repair interpersonal chaos.  DBT has been effective in treating a variety of diagnosis including: Borderline Personality, PTSD, Substance Use Disorders, Eating Disorders, Depression, Anxiety, and those struggling with self harming behaviors.

Rebekah Patrick Becker, LPC, facilitates the group several times a year.  Rebekah has experience working in day hospital and in patient treatment and has facilitated numerous groups.

If you are interested in a DBT group for adults, with a Christian perspective, contact us for the next scheduled group and we will add you to our list.

Eligible Participants: Adults 18+  currently receiving therapy or who are recommended by a mental health professional.

Focus: This group will teach individuals skills to navigate difficult emotions.  Each skills and group is focused on the skills of DBT  mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness while encouraging principles of the Christian faith.

Group is limited in size and must have 6 participants minimum.
